Thank you for rescuing my boat

I recently visited Exmouth for a week-long holiday, bringing my small yacht with me. Unfortunately, she slipped her anchor in the night and was washed up on Ladram Bay beach in a precarious and damaging manner.

Unfortunately, she slipped her anchor in the night and was washed up on Ladram Bay beach in a precarious and damaging manner.

I would like to say a big thank you to the local coastguard who dedicated three hours of their time and worked hard to rescue my boat, when they were under no obligation to do so as life was not in danger.

They were kind, helpful, professional and dedicated. Thanks also to Exmouth harbourmaster - he offered to fit me into the inner harbour, had I managed to refloat her, and was most sympathetic.

I found all the local people I came into contact with to be considerate and helpful.

You have a beautiful coastline along with some beautiful people. Many thanks to all.
