Tesco: more jobs with an ASDA
Well, well, what a surprise that Tesco have got the right to put a small store on the site of the old Job Centre in Rolle Street, just months after ASDA were messed about by the council and a few small-minded protesters.

ASDA would have brought much-needed jobs into the town by building a supermarket on, what I would call a scruffy piece of land and actually improving the site and view.
It makes you wonder if the same complaints would have arisen if Tesco had wanted to move the store from Salterton Road and place it on the very same piece of land - I think not.
There must be some very happy councillors rubbing their hands with glee.
I am not saying it will not bring jobs, but not as many as asda would have given but, having worked in this industry, most staff will come from the big stores at Exeter and Exmouth. Enough said.
