A fire which destroyed a temporary accommodation in Topsham was caused by a deliberate act, fire fighters believe.

Fire crews were called out to a fire at a property in Rydon Lane at around 6.45pm on Tuesday (June 7).

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue fire fighters were responding to a report of a fire at a temporary accommodation at Rydon Lawns.

Crews confirmed the accommodation was on fire and put it out using two hose reel jets, breathing apparatus and one safety jet.

A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said the cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate and the accommodation was completely destroyed.
