Children at Lady Seaward’s Primary School in Clyst Saint George were transported back to Roman times with Olly the Roman from the Royal Albert Memorial Museum, in Exeter.
The children learnt all about the life of Britons and Romans, they also had a class debate over whether they themselves would have fought against the Romans or accepted their way of life.
The classroom and school hall were filled with artefacts to handle and examine, such as clothing, jewellery, foods, medicines and weapons.
The children learnt Roman fighting techniques and they ended the day with a battle, teachers versus pupils.
