A NEW state-of-the-art swimming pool for Exmouth is top of the agenda at the Town Hall next week.Exmouth Swimming and Lifesaving Society, Exmouth's Chief Swimming Coach David Smith and the Exmouth FC's physiotherapist have compiled a dossier on the requirements of a new pool.Plans for a new pool and a new sports centre are part of the ASM, Asda development bid - and members of the Town Council's General Purpose and Regeneration Committee will consider the report. The report will advise that any new pool should be big enough for 1,023 swimmers a day - open 12 hours a day with a capacity for 85 swimmers every hour - and even advise on the size and specifications of the pool.Robert Clarke, who wrote the report, said that the aim of the document was to "...clearly define the requirements of the inhabitants of Exmouth and the surrounding area for the provision of a new swimming pool ... and a considered overview of swimming needs in the Exmouth area in the 21st century.
