Suspected broken hip for Exmouth beach fall pensioner

Exmouth coastguards were called to the beach when a pensioner suffered a suspected broken hip after falling from a groyne.

A pensioner who fell while walking on Exmouth beach was taken to hospital with a suspected broken hip.

Paramedics and Exmouth coastguards were called to the beach near Orcombe Point on Sunday evening to help a 71-year-old woman who had fallen from a groyne.

A Portland coastguard spokesperson said: “The casualty had suffered a suspected broken hip and was taken to hospital by the ambulance.”
