A popular Exmouth doctor’s surgery has just gone live with its new website enabling patients to access services at the click of a mouse.

The Haldon House Surgery, Imperial Road, serves almost 7,000 patients in Exmouth, Lympstone, Woodbury, Budleigh Salterton, East Budleigh and Exton.

And now patients can order repeat prescriptions online, request a phone consultation with a doctor or nurse, subscribe to a regular health newsletter and even read up on the latest health and medical related stories in the media on their ‘rolling news’ section.

The website also gives details on fundraising events for new equipment by the patient participation group, details on sickness certificates and information on the new Summary Care Record - a new central NHS computer system – and how to opt out.

It also includes links to other resources and websites like those of the NHS and Bupa, provides holiday and travel advice and how to cop with conditions like flu.

You can even look up details of the many clinics for the management of chronic diseases such as asthma and diabetes which are on offer, as well as a wide variety of other medical services including antenatal and postnatal care.

David Bassett of the patient participation group said: “I think its one of the best websites of any surgery in Exmouth.

“Its easy to use, and it has proved very popular.”
