Exmouth Town Council has backed plans by a charity to improve its headquarters.

Exmouth and Lympstone Hospiscare is planning to convert a flat above its existing centre in Highview Gardens into an office.

Members of the town council’s planning committee, which voted to support the scheme at its meeting this week, heard that the bid was related to plans by the charity to improve its services.

Councillor Maddy Chapman said: “They do such a wonderful job and are taking on more staff to do care at home, which I think is excellent for Exmouth.”

East Devon District Council will decide on planning permission.
