Support for rowing club idea

Although I wholeheartedly support the chairman of Exmouth Rowing Club and Mr A J Atkins in their pleas to take over the Inshore Lifeboat Station, I fear they have no chance.

Although I wholeheartedly support the chairman of Exmouth Rowing Club and Mr A J Atkins in their pleas to take over the Inshore Lifeboat Station, I fear they have no chance.

The suggestion is far too sensible and logical to be even considered by East Devon District Council, which, given its totally inappropriate use of the old swimming pool site for a bowling alley, must now be urgently scratching around to find some equally stupid non-maritime use for this building.

May I suggest you organise a competition to assist EDDC to find the most ridiculously inappropriate proposal? Perhaps a hair-dressing establishment will be considered ideal?

While I wish the rowing club every success in its efforts to obtain the site, I fear there is little chance of common sense prevailing.

However, should the club decide to organise a petition, I would be happy to sign it. It might just work!
