Attempted Break-in: The police are appealing for witnesses to help trace the culprit who attempted to break into a home in Clinton Terrace.

Budleigh Salterton police officer PC Simon Evans said an unsuccessful attempt was made to burgle the property on Monday, September 5.

He said damage was caused to the property during the burglary attempt.

PC Evans would like to hear from anyone with information about the crime, or who may have seen or heard someone acting suspiciously in the area on the same date.

Green Appeal: Volunteers are being sought from Budleigh Salterton to become recycling and waste champions.

The appeal comes following Monday’s town council meeting, when an appeal made by the district council to recruit town council members to support the parish drew a blank.

The town council threw open the offer to the town and invited those keen to take part to get in touch.

Burglary: Budleigh Salterton police are appealing for help tracing the burglar who broke into a home in North View Road, some time between Monday, September 5, and the following day.

Officers said the burglar left empty-handed after gaining entry to the property through the conservatory.

‘Superb’ Result: Budleigh Salterton has won the right to fly a South West in Bloom flag thanks to the efforts of the Budleigh in Bloom group.

After it was last week announced the town had won a gold award for the fifth consecutive year, the group was presented with a gold flag for the town which will be retained for the next 12 months.

Budleigh town councillor John Shiel said the group’s efforts were ‘superb’.

Shoes Taken: A shoe thief targeted a home in Budleigh Salterton this month, when footwear was stolen from outside a home in Queen Street,

The police are keen to trace the culprit who stole the shoes on Tuesday, September 6.

Criminal Damage: Budleigh Salterton police are appealing for help tracing the culprit responsible for breaking a window of the town’s library, in Station Road.

The criminal damage occurred some time between Tuesday, September 13, and the following day. Contact the police on 101, quoting crime reference: KE/11/2414.

Pruning Plan: Tree plans for a property in Fore Street Hill, Budleigh Salterton, won the support of the town council on Monday.

The district council will decide if a sycamore can be pruned and if two other sycamores and a lime tree can be felled.
