The committee and friends of the Budleigh Salterton Flower and Produce Show Society said they were delighted with its summer show.

Despite continuing cold temperatures during the early summer, the entries to the show, held on Saturday in the Public Hall, were, the judges said, of high quality, although fewer in number than last year.

Visitors enjoyed the colours and scents of the floral displays and the excellence of the fruit and vegetables, and there was also a good entry in the photographic classes, including several very colourful photos of a high standard from the pupils of Brixington School.

The store cupboard entries were down on the usual numbers, but were also of high quality.

Chairman Sue Peters said: “The committee would like to thank the Budleigh Flower Arranging Group for again producing an outstanding exhibition of arrangements for the visitors to the show to enjoy.”
