THE Police are becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of a 54 year old man from Newmarket who is thought to have family in the Somerset area and has been missing since Monday June 16.

Alistair Chivers, known as Des was last seen at 2.15pm that day when he left his local pub, the Five Bells. He has not been heard from since.

Suffolk police say it is completely out of character for Des to go missing in this way.

Des is described as white, around 5 foot 8 inches tall, with short grey hair and a beard. He was wearing a blue checked shirt, green trousers and boots when he was last seen.

Anyone who knows of Des's whereabouts, who has been in contact with him, or thinks they may be related to him, should call Newmarket Police on 01473 613500 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
