AN EMPLOYEE of an Exmouth-based roofing company won a 100 prize and glass trophy after landing success in a UK-wide competition.
Scott Mapp, who works for Chubb Roofing Ltd, in Pound Lane Trading Estate, won a gold award and title of 'best single ply installer' at the 2009 Skillbuild contest held in Glasgow last week.
The competition searches for the best young builders across a number of construction trades.
Competing in the event for three days, Scott had to complete a number of projects designed to test both practical skills and related knowledge.
Scott's employer Pete Chubb, 41, said he was very proud of his colleague.
"We are extremely proud of Scott for bringing this trophy home to Chubb Roofing and hopefully it mirrors our commitment to our trade and customers."
