EXMOUTH firefighters and the town's coastguards were called to Mamhead View on Saturday afternoon - after a car trapped in mud off Belcher's Slipway caught fire.The car had been towing a trailer carrying a boat out of the water shortly before 4pm when it became stuck and smoke began pouring out of a rear motor.The car was a hybrid vehicle and, said a fire brigade spokesman, had caught fire when an electrical circuit was unable to cope with the wheels being stuck. The car was towed back to the road, where the fire brigade made the vehicle safe after disconnecting the battery.
