BUDLEIGH Salterton police are trying to trace the whereabouts of a large amount of cash and a bank card stolen from a wallet lost by a tourist visiting the town.

BUDLEIGH Salterton police are trying to trace the whereabouts of a large amount of cash and a bank card stolen from a wallet lost by a tourist visiting the town.

An American man dropped his wallet on August 5 while sitting on a bench in the Dog and Donkey pub in Knowle, the police said.

The wallet was found the following day in the same spot, but $950 cash and a Link card was missing.

The police are appealing for anyone with information to call 08452 777444 and quote crime number KE/09/2296.
