There was an abundance of energy and enthusiasm on display at the Public Hall last Friday, with boys and girls having a great time at the Budleigh Salterton Gala Week Street Dance workshop, run by dynamic professional dancer and inspirational dance teacher Katie Murray.
For the past two years, the St Peter's School Association has run a hugely successful High School Musical workshop, so, this year, organiser Jane Hushon decided to ring the changes with "Step on and Step up", a street dance experience.
The charismatic Katie, formerly a pupil at Andrea White's Dance Arts Theatre School and a student at 344 Dance Academy, Bristol, was impressed with the way the boys and girls worked hard throughout the two-hour session and Exmouth Journal chief photographer, Simon Horn, was there to capture their vigour and vitality on camera.
At the end of the workshop, parents and friends were treated to a mini-show, which began with Street Jazz entitled Usha. Next came Justin Timberlake and Madonna's Four Minutes. Then country and western and Hannah Montana brought a memorable morning to an exhilarating end.
