This is a first for me to send a letter of concern, but once again idiotic bureaucracy has sanctioned a cycle lane on The Esplanade at Exmouth. Such a waste of public monies. At various points, the width for pedestrians is not even a metre. The weekend saw a wonderful crowd enjoying a seaside walk, but they were constantly harassed by cyclists demanding their lane. I think there is a serious accident waiting to happen, or perhaps the children, the elderly, prams and wheelchair-bound people should take to the road. But then they might get hit by the cyclists who ignore the cycle lane or by a speeding motorcyclist trying to master the chicanes or even the young speeders in their tarted up cars Wake up, councillors, you have created a problem, not cured one. The suggestion is to go and see, sum up and rectify! Ray Lovegrove,Proprietor, Manor Lodge Residential Home, Exmouth
