Members of Exmouth Air Cadets have enjoyed sporting success at their Wing Athletics competition.

Youngsters from Exmouth’s 299 Squadron helped their sector to take home the sector trophy, with both male and female cadets competing against others from across Devon and Cornwall.

It sets the cadets up nicely for a busy summer of events, including the annual Ten Tors challenge, for which the cadets are currently training every other weekend, with teams being entered in all three distance categories.

They will also be taking part in sports, shooting, and military exercises on Woodbury Common, and joining in Armed Forces Day.

With all this to come, the squadron is currently looking for volunteers to fill staff roles and its civilian committee, both of which are vital for the operation of the organisation.

The squadron is particularly looking for female members to assist with supervision for training exercises and to provide staff cover for summer camps and other visits and events.

Anyone who feels they may be able to provide some time in either of these roles should email Flt Lt Rich Bagnall at oc.299@aircadets.org
