A Withycombe singing group has performed in public for the first time, for the residents of two Exmouth care homes.

The Withycombe Warblers, who were formed in April, performed for residents of Rose Lodge and Exmouth House.

The group contains many singers who have very little experience of singing, let alone public performance.

Group leader Claire Anstee said: “It felt great to bring some Christmas cheer to all, and was lovely to get the residents’ feet tapping.”

The Warblers meet at Withycombe Methodist Hall on Friday mornings, and will be re-starting on January 13.

The group would welcome new members – especially men – and no music reading ability is required.
