Sidmouth dechair shelter arson attack

DECKCHAIRS and their shelter outside the Belmont Hotel, Sidmouth, were torched in the early hours of this morning (Saturday, July 4).
DECKCHAIRS and their shelter outside the Belmont Hotel, Sidmouth, were torched in the early hours of this morning (Saturday, July 4).
A fire crew from Sidmouth was called to the fire at The Esplanade at around 5am and requested help from its second appliance.
Watch commander Stuart Collings was officer in charge.
The deckchair shelter was severely damaged by fire. Two breathing apparatus sets and two hosereels were used to extinguish the fire.

Police were asked to attend the incident, which is believed to be deliberate.
