A retractable glass canopy could be added to a two-storey café and restaurant building being constructed on the seafront.

An application has been lodged with the district council to vary planning permission for the Sideshore watersports centre to allow for a glass canopy with retractable walls to be fitted to the terrace of a building on the site which will house a restaurant.

The design of the two-storey building on the site has two external open terraces for use with the restaurant with the larger of the two seating up to 60 people.

The variation application's design and access statement said the site is 'severely exposed' to the elements which would limit the use of the terraces to 'good weather' days.

The application also seeks to make changes to parking arrangements and add two electric vehicle charging points.
