Shoppers to boost Exmouth charities

Three good causes in Exmouth are set for a cash boost thanks to town shoppers.

Littleham Family Activity Centre, Marpool Primary School Association, and Pete’s Dragons have been named as the latest beneficiaries from the Co-op’s membership scheme, which donates one per cent of money spent on Co-op products by members from Exmouth.

Money will be raised over a six month period.

Be default members’ donations will be divided between the three charities, but they can also chose a specific charity to support through their membership options.

The previous round of the membership scheme saw Exmouth charities receive an average of £4,665.

Chief Membership Officer at the Co-op, Rufus Olins, said: “In April we paid out £9,000,000 to over 4,000 good causes, and that money has gone on to fund some fantastic projects in communities throughout the country.

“The more people shop, the more we share.”
