She’ll be missed

May I, through your letters page, thank sincerely all those people who voted for me and offered their support in the recent county council elections?

I am grateful to have been given the opportunity to serve the local community, as well as the wider areas of Devonshire, and promise to work hard for the benefit of all for the next four years, regardless of political persuasion.

My thanks go also to those who put their confidence in me by helping with deliveries of leaflets and manning the polling stations.

Finally, it was with great sadness that I learnt that Brenda Taylor did not retain her seat, and her loss is already being felt at County Hall by her former colleagues from all political parties.

I join with them in thanking Brenda for the sterling commitment she has given in her 12 years of service on Devon County Council, both to Withycombe, Brixington and beyond, and wish her and her husband John enjoyment in spending more, well deserved time together.
