Two people were taken to hospital following a road traffic collision at Clyst St George.

Emergency services were called to the incident at 9.54pm on Sunday, June 5.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said that on arrival crews confirmed there was a car on fire in a field, with two casualties free and clear of the vehicle, but with serious injuries.

Firefighters put out the fire, in the car’s engine compartment, and assisted ambulance personnel with first aid, before the casualties were taken to hospital by ambulance.
