EAST Budleigh will soon be welcoming seafood fans now the Old Granary and tearooms is to become a seafood restaurant and takeaway.Concerns from residents were raised when the application was first made to open the seafood business because some believed the premises would become a fish and chip shop. Some said the location was unsuitable because it lacked car parking space, storage for deliveries and rubbish removal.Excessive noise and smell was also a worry of nearby neighbours.East Devon District Council, which recently gave the green light to the change, has attached conditions to its approval. In an attempt to control noise, the council has ordered that customers will not be allowed on the premises before 9am and after 11pm, Monday to Saturday, and before 10am and after 10pm on Sundays.
