Sea scouts get funding
EXMOUTH Sea Scouts have received a �2,000 cash boost towards refurbishing their dilapidated home near the Imperial Recreation Ground.
EXMOUTH Sea Scouts have received a �2,000 cash boost towards refurbishing their dilapidated home near the Imperial Recreation Ground.
Organisations throughout Devon continue to benefit from the money received by Devon County Council from the sale of Exeter International Airport.
And the Local Projects Fund, totaling �1.55million, was created to support smaller projects which make a difference to people living in towns and villages.
Each of the 62 County Councillors were allocated budgets of �25,000 and were invited to use their local knowledge and expertise to select projects and put forward bids for funding.

And in the latest round of cash rewards County Council chairman and Withycombe councillor Brenda Taylor selected the home of the 5th Exmouth Sea Scouts as beneficiaries.
She said: "Over the years East Devon District Council have promised to relocate them, but it keeps getting put back and put back.

"The scouts are over subscribed and they have along waiting list.
"When was there they didn't even have running water and they use an old generator
"They do such a good job, and they really, really need help.
"It's a great thing to be involved in the scouts and I think it's important for youngsters to have a bit of encouragement.
"Scouting is so important for their personal development."
The Sea Scouts meet every Monday - around 25 scouts between 11 and 15 attend weekly and are involved in arrange of activities from raft building to Sedan chair racing, boating to knots and even competitive wide games.
