Sculpture: not the right setting

Regarding the discussions for a sculpture, be it large or small, on the seafront at Budleigh Salterton. I fail to see how the structure will enhance an already magnificent seafront, however fine a piece of artistic work it may be.

I can appreciate a sculpture, but it must be in the right setting. Much as I admire the stainless steel birds in Otterton, in my opinion they are totally out of place in that location.

The same applies to the proposed Longboat Cafe. It is the unspoilt nature of Budleigh's seafront that attracts the visitors, not flashing lights with chromium fittings.
