A leading UK trade retailer has created eight new jobs in Exmouth after opening its first store in the town.

Screwfix will be open seven days a week on the Liverton Business Park in Salterton Road.

The purpose-built store measures 5,000 square-feet, making it the latest national chain to move into the town.

James Marshall, Exmouth store manager, said: “Our new team includes people with all different levels of experience, focused on providing superb customer service to meet the needs of our busy trade customers.”

The business park, which is owned by Clinton Devon Estates, is already home to a mix of national and local businesses. Adrian Pitts, estates surveyor of Clinton Devon Estates, said: “The opening of Screwfix not only offers Exmouth’s tradespeople and other customers with the convenience of a full range of products right on their doorstep, it also provides a real boost to the town’s economy.”
