MORE than 2000 visitors attended a food event at Otterton Mill.
Scores of people descended on the visitor attraction for the mill's annual apple and game day last Saturday, October 24.
Owners Simon and Caroline Spiller were surprised by the turnout.
Simon said: "Despite forecasts, the weather held out on Saturday and we had a glorious time celebrating autumn produce from the Otter Valley.
"With an estimated 2000 visitors, we exceeded our attendance expectations."
Hundreds of people arrived in their cars, armed with apples for pressing. Many left with bottles of their own fresh apple juice as well as game meats including pheasant and partridge.
An apple spiral-baking and game meat cookery demonstration was held and a wild plant foraging workshop.
