Exmouth police are appealing for help tracing the culprit who stole a child's scooter from outside a shop in Withycombe Village Road. Read this and more.

CHILD’S UPSET: Exmouth police are appealing for help tracing the culprit who stole a child’s scooter from outside a shop in Withycombe Village Road.

Officers said the black JD Bug scooter was taken from outside the Spar Shop at around 5pm on Saturday, December 10.

Police constable Sallyanne Southern said a man was seen taking the scooter.

She said the male was described as being white, aged in his late teens, with short dark hair, wearing a grey, hooded top with black on the pockets.

He was carrying a one-strapped rucksack across his body.

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Southern on 101, quoting crime reference KE/11/3260.

SUPPORTED: Town planners have backed revised plans for a replacement home in Littlemead Lane.

The plans would see a two-storey home being built on a slope at Sundown.

It will now be considered by East Devon District Council.

HUNT DATES: The East Devon Hunt has made changes to two of its traditional Christmas meets.

It will be holding the annual Boxing Day meet at Honiton Cattle Market on Monday, December 26, at 11am, instead of at Woodbury Castle, and the annual New Year’s Day meet will be held at Woodbury Castle, on Monday, January 2, also at 11am, instead of The Square at Ottery St Mary. Spokesman Emma Cranmer Marsh said: “The changes are to do with shooting constraints.”

CLOSED FOR CHRISTMAS: Exmouth library, in Exeter Road, will be closed by 1pm on Christmas Eve, reopening on New Year’s Eve, Saturday December 31, for normal opening.

Closed again on bank holiday Monday, January 2, the library resumes normal opening hours on Tuesday, January 3, 2012.
