Some of Exmouth's youngest and oldest residents have joined together to find out about another culture.

Children from Exeter Road Primary School visited the Welcome Centre – a day centre for the elderly, based at Morgan Court – to learn about Japan.

One of the centre’s volunteers, and some of its clients, have visited Japan, and they shared their knowledge with the children, while looking at some traditional Japanese objects, tasting some Japanese food and picking up marshmallows with chop sticks.

Welcome Centre manager Angela Boatwright said: “It was a very enjoyable morning and the first in our multicultural intergenerational project.”
