STAFF and pupils have demonstrated they are concerned and prepared to help improve the environment.
Brixington Primary School, on Brixington Lane, has launched an eco-friendly challenge in partnership with Devon County Council to try and reduce its carbon footprint.
More than 100 pupils travel to the school by car despite 71 of them living less than 800 meters away from the site.
The school will also take part in a number of carbon challenges throughout the year which includes an event on May 22 and a bike day in June.
Leaflets about the events, and the importance of changing to more eco-friendly travelling methods, will be sent out to parents.
