School parking concerns raised

PUBLISHED: 12:30 09 January 2017

Police have reported ‘on-going issues’ about parking outside Brixington Academy during school start and finish times.

Officers said the marked out bus stop bay continued to be used by parents as a drop-off bay. Double yellow lines and zigzags were also ‘being violated’.

Police said culprits ‘violate at will in the mornings’, adding parking issues were reduced when an officer was present.

PCSO Chris Ball said: “There are two new white lines which are there as advisory only, to help with the sighting of traffic near to a busy crossing.

“This means it would be helpful if vehicles did not park in this area during school start and home time.”
