CHARITY workers at Christian Aid in Exmouth will be donning their Santa suits and taking part in a run to raise money to help the underprivileged and is appealing for sponsorship.

Christian Aid’s South West Regional Manager Martin John Nicholls, based in the Parade, and his team are digging out their plimsols and stumbling along to Southampton Common on December 12 to attempt to run 5km to raise a minimum of 500 for Christian Aid.

He said: “It’s fair to say the team fitness levels vary somewhat but we’ve read all about training and are determined to finish the 5km as a team.

“One thing is for sure, dressing up as Santa and running 5km is definitely not how any of us usually spend our Sunday mornings!

“We are doing it for one reason and one reason only - to raise money for the fight against poverty.

“If you are able to show your support by donating any amount, large or small, we’d be so grateful.

“So, if you happen to be in Southampton on the day, please do come along to give us a cheer or throw abuse and ridicule. We’ll be the ones dressed as Santa!”

You can donate through JustGiving who will send your donation directly to Christian Aid and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. Go to; www.justgiving.com/thesouthwestregionalteam
