LITTLEHAM'S Sandy Bay had a spring clean thanks to a major conservation charity - and was found to be cleaner than most other resorts in the country.The Marine Conservation Society (MCS) organises Beachwatch, a nation-wide quarterly beach clean-up and litter survey. And this spring's survey, carried out at the 800m beach, was part of the Society's largest ever beach clean-up.Staff at Haven's Devon Cliffs Holiday Park collected 146 items of litter or debris, compared with a national average of more than 1,100 items per kilometre of beach.In total 354 beaches around the country were surveyed, showing a continuing high level of plastic dumped on British beaches.
