Sailor backs Olympic programme

EXMOUTH Olympic silver medal sailor Joe Glanfield has lent his support to the Young Ambassador Programme to promote Olympic and Paralympic values.The Exmouth sailor was at Exeter Rugby Club on Tuesday, where he teamed up with other Olympic and Paralympic athletes to talk to 80 young ambassadors from the region.The young ambassadors will be attending six regional conferences to learn how they can best promote the Olympic and Paralympic ethos, sport, PE and a healthy lifestyle to other local youngsters.Now in its third year, The Young Ambassador Programme, which is managed by the Youth Sport Trust, has received official recognition from the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) through its London 2012 Inspire Mark.
