After the sad loss of our granddaughter to meningitis, my husband and I vowed to raise funds for the Meningitis Trust. We had a sponsored walk in August and a tribute evening last month and to date more than £2,900 has been collected with pledges of over £800 still to come. This amount could never have been achieved without the help, support and donations from Lionel Howell and the 531st Tribute Fund, The Exeter Tornados, The Exmouth Football and Social Club, Tempus, The Royal Order of Masons, Tesco (in particular Helen), Travelworld, Lyn Richards, Sue Holden, Brian Worts, Pauline Wilcock, Nicole Evans, B&Q, Daff-o-dells, Exmouth Pavilion, Highfield Coachworks, Moore's Pasties, and your very own editorial man Dave Somerton-Rees. He did a fantastic job as Monty in last Saturday's splendid carnival. They all played such an important part that we would like to say a very big thank you to them all. If I have missed anyone out, I apologise. God bless.Richard and Linda Helliker,(via email).
