BARGAIN Booze, the discount off licence housed in the former Metro Centre/TSB Bank in Rolle Street will open its doors this Saturday.
Police, the town management and councillors were concerned about another off licence in the town centre and objected to the opening.
But the applicants came to an agreement with police about staff training and having an exclusions register for known troublemakers.
But town councillor Steve Gazzard has said that he is concerned the new signs have not had planning permission.
Advertising consent applications are decided by the town hall and Cllr Gazzard, a long-standing member of the planning committee said: "I have not seen an application for their signs.
"And it would have been better to have sorted it out before the opening but we will have to wait for a retrospective one.
