An illustrator, who started balancing stones while visiting Exmouth, is to rock this year’s art trail.
Spike Gerrall, 55, from London, started balancing rocks at Shelly Beach while waiting for his son, Ethan, to finish sailing training along the beach.
He will be showcasing his sculpturing talent at Sea Dog Art, 3 Gussiford Lane, during the Exmouth Art Trail.
Spike said: “While my son was out sailing, I needed something to do, so I picked up a few rocks and started from there, putting them on top of each other.
“I think the art trail will be absolutely lovely.
“It’s something that is really accessible and it is totally easy to understand. It looks cool and it is so simple.
“When I was balancing rocks children came along and had a go.”
Spike will be performing his rock balancing from Saturday, May 27, to Monday, May 29.
