A BUDLEIGH Salterton councillor is celebrating winning a lengthy battle to protect the town's pedestrians.Councillor Caz Sismore-Hunt has tirelessly campaigned for a mirror to be fitted near the Moor Lane junction after the road layout was changed. This week the councillor was victorious after the mirror was installed.Cllr Sismore-Hunt said: "After the layout was changed at Moor Lane we realised it was very dangerous trying to cross to the Green when coming down the hill. "Getting the layout changed again was not an option so I suggested we have a mirror fitted on one of the trees to enable pedestrians to see any traffic approaching from Moor Lane. "County councillor Christine Channon did offer to pay for it out of her budget but EDDC decided to supply and fit it. "It's taken a long time but I am delighted that the mirror is now in place in time for the school summer holidays.
