A road in Exmouth is being closed for five days by South West Water.

The company has been carrying out work at the junction of Pound Lane, Bradham Lane and St John’s Road since March 7, using temporary traffic lights.

However, the company says that due to ‘unforeseen engineering difficulties’ it has had to close Bradham Lane until Tuesday, April 5.

A spokesperson for South West Water said: “Since March 7, South West Water and partners have been upgrading more than 600m of water main in the Pound Lane, Bradham Lane and St John’s Road area of Exmouth to improve our service to local residents.

“Temporary traffic lights have been used during this work. However, due to unforeseen engineering difficulties, we have had to close Bradham Lane to traffic from today (March 31) until Tuesday (April 5) to complete this section of work safely.

“The road is due to reopen on Tuesday April 5 when work will continue using temporary traffic lights.

“We are working hard to complete the agreed programme of works as swiftly as possible, which is scheduled for completion by April 22.”
