Reports were that a car had gone into the water at Mamhead slipway this morning (Saturday, November 18).

Exmouth lifeboat volunteers launched this morning to search for a car that may have entered the sea.

Posting of social media, Exmouth RNLI said the inshore lifeboat George Bearman II was launched at around 6am this morning (Saturday, November 18) following a call to the UK Coastguard from a concerned member of the public.

According to Exmouth RNLI there was a possibility that a car had entered the water at Mamhead Slipway and not returned.

Crew volunteers worked alongside Exmouth Coastguard and police searching the River Exe from the slipway to Starcross.

After an hour, nothing was found and the lifeboat was stood down.
