A floating restaurant moored near Exmouth was featured on a Channel Four television programme this week.

The River Exe Café appeared on Hidden Kitchens, which sees Michelin Star chef Michel Roux Jr visit secluded eateries up and down the country.

The episode aired on Channel Four on Wednesday (March 8).

River Exe Café owner Dave Foa said he was delighted with the national exposure.

He added: “We’re going to really hit the season running thanks to this TV show.

“To get a prime-time advert for the café, with a name like Michel Roux Jr, is going to be a massive boost for us.

“We’re very excited for it.”

Dave said that a member of the production team behind the show had visited the café beforehand, so the director came along to have a look at the place early in last year’s summer season.

Dave added: “He said he was blown away by the place and he couldn’t believe the natural beauty – he called it breathtaking. He also felt River Exe Café was the most hidden kitchen.”
