Retirement home developers McCarthy & Stone have tweaked their plans for an Avenues development.
They have made their plans for assisted living units at Seacroft, 8 Douglas Avenue, ‘more sympathetic’ to the area.
Although the town council backed the plans there were concerns that the development would put strain on the sewerage system and lead to flooding.
A spokesperson said: “Along with careful design changes, we have also listened to the feedback of planning officers and a local councillor regarding existing drainage problems in the area.
“We have been working with South West Water and as a result we would be committed to contributing toward improvements of the sewer infrastructure system at a cost to be met in part by McCarthy & Stone.”
