Renaissance Chorus – the ladies’ close harmony chorus based in Exmouth – has recently presented a cheque for £500 to one of its chosen charities.

Supporting Parents Upon Diagnosis (SPUD) was set up nine years ago by Lynn Towers, the daughter of a choir member.

“Lynn’s daughter was diagnosed with leukemia when she was four and it changed all of their lives,” said Renaissance leader Jean Thomas.

“The charity supports in different ways – from household chores to dog walking – to take the burden from the family so they can concentrate on supporting their child to get well.

“At Renaissance we like to help local charities, so SPUD was a great place to help. We are always available to perform when invited for many different causes.”

To contact SPUD, email info@renaissancechorus.co.uk.

If you wish to attend a Renaissance Chorus rehearsal, the choir is at Christchurch Hall, North Street on Tuesday evenings from 7.30pm.
