Conservative town councillor Ken Harper said at an Exmouth Town Council meeting (on January 19): "East Devon District Council doesn't work and needs fixing", in response to complaints about the total lack of consultation over EDDC's unilateral decision to turn off the lights in Exmouth's public spaces "in an experiment to see if they can save money". As well as complaints about the lack of consultation on this, many other councillors expressed the view that they were unhappy about the secrecy surrounding the Regeneration Board. Far from being seen as a Regeneration Board and given the lack of progress and no notable success, as well as the infighting now taking place between Conservative-run EDDC and Conservative-run Exmouth Town Council, perhaps it should be renamed the Degeneration Board?
