Recycling logic

PUBLISHED: 10:07 17 June 2011

I fully agree with the sentiments of Dave McHutchison regarding the frequency of charity collection bags (Journal, Thursday, June 9), as this also occurs elsewhere, such as in my own area of Tilehurst, Reading, where similar views have been expressed.

All these charities must think everyone must have an extreme surplus of old clothes for recycling.

Some time ago, I contacted a few charities to ask whether they co-ordinated collections, but such logic is not evident.

Rather than throw surplus bags in the bin, why not just turn them ‘inside out’ for household rubbish - saves buying black bin-liners and keeps your wheelie-bin cleaner!
