A CHARITY quiz night and raffle in East Budleigh in honour of a popular member of the community who died of cancer in September has raised 550.
A total of 200 was raised at a charity quiz night for cancer charity Force at the Sir Walter Raleigh pub while the remaining 350 was raised by auctioning a balloon ride for two.
Ruth Lunness sadly died of cancer on Wednesday September 15 just after her husband Keith had bought a balloon ride for two.
Keith wanted to honour his wife – the couple were regulars at the pub – by raising money for Force.
On the quiz night evening more than 60 people turned out while the balloon ride was won by Alan Weekes from Otterton.
Proprietors of the pub Chris and Sally Miller organised the evening and he said: “It was a fantastic evening, really superb.
