After more than 30 years living in the Moorfield Road area of Withycombe, I was very surprised to come home one evening to see a pedestrian crossing being put in at the bottom of Moorfield Road.In all of the years living there, I have been unaware of any accidents caused while crossing the road in this position. What I find harder to comprehend is the fact that there is a bus stop on either end of this crossing. Who on earth thought this would be a good idea? How much did it cost to install the crossing? Will they be resiting the bus stops and at how much cost to us again? If there is a bus at either of these bus stops, how will the motorist be able to see any of the signals telling them a pedestrian is about to cross? If there is an accident involving this crossing, where will the blame land? Will it be on the council, the pedestrian, the bus company? Name and address withheld
