Archant

A deluge of rain didn't stop the launch a new charity initiative in Exmouth.

The town’s Rotary clubs, joined by Exmouth mayor Brian Cole, town crier Roger Bourgein, and Exmouth in Bloom, were due to begin planting more than 20,000 crocuses at the junction of Exeter Road and Marine Way on Monday, marking World Polio Day and the national Rotary Purple4Polio campaign. The weather meant planting was not possible on the day, but this will be carried out over the next few weeks.

Every £1 donation to Rotary’s polio campaign is matched two to one.
